Frederick Man Killed Friday Night In Pedestrian Accident

Authorities say impairment, speed, are not factors in this accident.

Frederick, Md (KM) A Frederick man was killed Friday night after being struck by a motor vehicle. The Sheriff’s Office says Willie Clark, Jr. 60, was walking from the southbound shoulder in the 53-hundred block of Buckeystown Pike across six lanes of traffic when he was hit by a pickup truck which was traveling northbound. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene by fire and rescue personnel. His body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Deputies say Clark was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident, and was wearing dark clothing. This area of Buckeystown Pike is not well lit, and there are no street lights where Clark was crossing.

The driver of the pickup identified as Michael Kincain, 50, of Clarksburg was not injured.

The Sheriff’s Office says there’s no indication that excessive speed and impairment were factors in this crash.

The investigation into this accident is being handled by DFC Nathan Rector with the Traffic Unit. Anyone who has information about this collision is asked to contact DFC Rector at 301-600-6490.
