Snow Emergency Plans in Effect for Washington County

Snow emergency plan went into effect at 6:30 AM

The Snow Emergency Plan for all of Washington County will be placed into effect today at 0630 a.m. because of anticipated hazardous driving conditions, caused by snow and ice.

When the Plan is in effect, all vehicles traveling on designated state Snow Emergency Routes must be equipped with chains, snow tires, or all season radial tires.  Vehicles parked on Snow Emergency Routes are subject to being impounded.

Please do not call the State Police or any other police agency for road or weather conditions.  These types of calls will tie up police phone lines and prevent true emergency calls from getting through, and could jeopardize someone’s life.
