Frederick’s 8th Annual Mission-10-Miler-Run-Race

It’s sponsored by the Frederick Rescue Mission.

FREDERICK, MD.  (LG)    The Frederick Rescue Mission is gearing up for their 8th annual Mission 10-Miler Run. “The event is being held on Sunday, March 24th, beginning at 8 a.m.”, said Leesa Ruderman, spokeswoman.  “All of the proceeds go to benefit the critical programs offered here at the Frederick Rescue Mission, like hot meals, groceries, our clothing program, our year long Changed Life Residential Recovery Program for men, and the Faith House, which is our 3 month residential program to help homeless women and their children,” she continued.

“This is a way for people to have fun and still give back to their neighbors in need. If you’re not up for a ten mile, there will actually be a 1 mile-fun run, as well.”

Because the Mission is a Christ-centered organization, they will host a ministry service that morning. “For people who are going to church that morning, and will say oh no we’re gonna miss our church service, don’t worry, we will hold a church service right before the race,” continued Ruderman.

It’s not too late to sign up for the Mission 10 Miler and the Mission 1 Miler to be held Sunday morning, March 24th! Both races begin and end at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. The 10 Miler is a certified 10 mile course, timed and chipped. It will begin at 8am and is a five mile out-and-back event. Finishers will receive a “Make it your Mission” quarter zip shirt and finisher medal. The Mission 1 Miler/fun run (walk) begins at 8:15am. Perfect for all ages and fitness levels, participants will receive a fun Mission 1 Miler t-shirt! Learn more, at www.mission10miler.com.
