The victim was reported missing by family members on May 15, 2019.
HAGERSTOWN, MD. (LG) State Police in Hagerstown have found a man who was reported missing from New York. Authorities said the 25 year old male called 911 from his cell phone and hung up Wednesday night. Troopers responded to the location where the call originated and found a car parked near the C & O Canal, in Hancock, Maryland.
The man had allegedly cut his arms with a knife and was found bleeding profusely, police said in a press release. The victim was flown to Shock Trauma.
The investigation revealed that the man traveled south on I-81 into West Virginia, and then traveled back into Maryland sometime throughout Wednesday night.
Police said the man told family members before he left New York on May 15th, that he was suicidal.
