Woman Medivaced Following Three-Vehicle Crash Thurs. In Washington County

A teenage driver was determined to be at fault.

 

 

Clear Spring, Md (KM) A Clear Spring woman was injured following a three-vehicle crash in Washington County Thursday evening.

Just after 7:00 PM, State Police say Judith Campbell, 63, was operating a Dodge Caravan eastbound along Route 40 between Hagerstown and Clear Spring. She had stopped, and was waiting to turn left on to Flying Duck Lane when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a Toyota Sienna. The impact forced the Caravan into the westbound lanes where it struck a Dodge Ram Truck.

Campbell was medivaced to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. No one else was injured.

Troopers say the operator of the Sienna was a 17-year-old juvenile from Clear Spring who was determined to be the at-fault driver.. They say speed and following distance were factors in this crash. No alcohol or drugs are believed to be involve, according to State Police.

The roadway was closed for about an hour while state troopers conducted their investigation.
