Two juveniles have been arrested.
Frederick, Md (KM) The victim of an assault late Friday afternoon at the Great Frederick Fair has died. The Sheriff’s Office says the 59-year-old man passed away late Saturday afternoon. The victim’s body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. Authorities have not released his name.
At around 5:36 PM on Friday, deputies assigned to the Fair were notified of an assault in the midway area. They found the victim lying unconscious on the ground.. Medics responded and he was medivaced to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
Investigators interviewed witnesses who said the attack was unprovoked. Two juveniles were arrested. A 15-year-old male is charged with 1st- and 2nd-degree assault, and a 16-year-old male is charged with 2nd-degree assault.
The Sheriff’s Office says it’s consulting with the State’s Attorney’s Office to determine additional charges.
