Construction Worker Killed After Being Struck By Motor Vehicle

It occurred in the Hagerstown Police Department parking lot.

 

 

Hagerstown, Md (KM) One person was killed in a fatal accident in the southside parking lot of the Hagerstown Police Department on Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say two men who were repaving the lot at West Washington Street at North Burhans Boulevard were struck by a vehicle. One was pronounced dead at the scene; the other was taken to Meritus Medical Center.

The driver of the striking vehicle then hit a construction vehicle located in the parking lot of the police department. A woman who was the driver of an SUV and the operator of the construction vehicle were also taken to Meritus Medical Center with serious injuries.

Prior to the two men being stuck, police say the driver of the striking vehicle hit a pickup truck in the intersection of West Washington Street and North Burhans Boulevard. The operator of the pickup was not hurt.

An accident reconstructionist was called to the scene.

Hagerstown Police say they are not releasing any names of the individuals involved at this time.
