County Announces Applicants To Fill Board Of Education Vacancy

Seventeen citizens applied and are qualified for the list.

 


FREDERICK, MD – Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner and County Council President MC Keegan-Ayer released the names of 17 individuals who applied to fill a vacancy on the Frederick County Board of Education as of Monday’s deadline. The applicants are residents and registered voters in the county.

The following individuals submitted their names for consideration for the appointment: David Bass; Zakir Bengali, Ph.D.; Tracy Dunheimer; Garth Fazio; Rae Gallagher; Susan Johnson; Ed Martinez; April Miller, OD; Ron Peppe; Caleb Rose, Ph.D.; Dean Rose, Mike Schaden, VMD; Daniel Shapiro; Chuckia Tisdale, MD; Masai Troutman; Desiree Tucker, and Joao Vieira.

The council will interview the applicants in closed session on December 13th . The final three applicants for recommendation to the county executive will have their interviews broadcast on FCG TV, cable channels 19 and 1085.
The council will accept public comments about the final three candidates at 7 p.m. on December 17th in the first floor hearing room of Winchester Hall.

Gardner will then submit one name back to the council for confirmation and the appointed individual will fill an unexpired term that ends in December of 2020.
