One Person Shot Outside Post Office In Loudon County, Va.

Police say victim has non-life threatening injuries.

 

 

Lovettsville, Md (KM) One person was shot Wednesday morning outside of a post office in Lovettsville, Virginia.

The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the facility on North Church Street at around 9:00 AM. The US Postal Service Inspector General’s Office says a special agent with its office used his firearm to shoot another Postal Service employee in the parking lot during a fight. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The shooter remained at the scene when police arrived.

The Postal Service has requested the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office investigate this incident.

The post office on North Church Street was closed while authorities conducted their investigation. It was reopened just after 1:00 PM.
