The National Museum of Civil War Medicine has the following upcoming events:
v The Pry House Field Hospital Museum will remain open all winter long with special hours. Weekends through the end of May, Saturday and Sunday from 11am till 4pm. A donation of $3 per person is suggested.
v Thursday, March 21st – The Frederick County Civil War Roundtable Meeting will be held from 7:30pm till 8:30pm. It will be in the Delaplaine-Randall Room of the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. Lectures are free and this discussion will be on The Gilmore and Mosby Train Robberies.

The Frederick Rescue Mission is holding Operation Closet Cleanout to gather new or used winter wear for those in need. They are in need of coats, hats, boots, scarves, sweaters and blankets. Amateur and professional photographers of all ages are invited to participate in the Historical Society of Frederick County’s second annual Byerly-Rothwell Photography Contest. The contest seeks to encourage individuals to discover local history through the camera’s lens. Possible subjects include, but are not limited to, historic structures, historical objects, places of historical significance, important events, notable individuals, and traditional activities. Cash prizes of up to $150 are awarded to the top three photos in four divisions: Adult-Amateur, Adult-Professional, Student-Primary, and Student-Secondary.
