The Brunswick High School Railroaders baseball team has cut a swath through Frederick and Washington counties this season. The Roaders are a 1A team but among their more than a dozen victims this season are plenty of larger 2A and 3A schools. As they get ready for playoff action this coming Monday, pitcher Colin Nusbaum, first baseman Gary Barrett and assistant coach Jayson Mobley stop by the WFMD studios to talk to Ed Lulie and Pete MacLeod about their very successful 2013 regular season. Nusbaum has a 5-1 record as a pitcher and plays shortstop too and has a bunch of game winning hits to his credit. He plans on continuing his career at Salisbury University next season. Gary Barrett has been hitting over .500 for most of the season and talks about his plans to become a Maryland State Police officer after graduation from Brunswick High this Spring. Coach Mobley says this group of athletes advanced deep into the state tournaments in football and basketball this school year and won the state soccer championship. Listen to these young athletes talk about the top sports thrills of their high school careers. Its all on Frederick County Sports Weekend, this Sunday (5/12) at 12:05 pm on 930 WFMD Radio and the streaming audio of wfmd.com
