Yes, its football season and the Ravens, Redskins and Maryland Terrapins are all off to good starts but how about the incredible turn-around seasons by the Orioles and the Nationals? The Orioles have been neck and neck with the Yankees all summer and the Nationals have the best record in the National League! Don Loun is back as a guest talking to WFMD's Ed Lulie and Don analyzes what both the Orioles and Nationals did to get where they are today. Loun starred at Frederick High School as an athlete in baseball, football and basketball and then played baseball throughout Frederick County and signed with the old Washington Senators in 1964. He was called up to the Senators in late September of that year pitching a shutout against the Red Sox at Fenway Park and striking out Carl Yastremski, the last man to win the major league triple crown. Loun admires the way Nationals manager Davey Johnson does things. Loun also talks about the Orioles high draft pick, Brandon Kline, a star at Thomas Johnson High School and the University of Virginia. And Loun talks about playing baseball in the city of Frederick and the county back in the 50's and early 60's. How about some good old baseball talk, be listening at 12:05 this Sunday afternoon on 930 WFMD Radio and the streaming audio of wfmd.com for Frederick County Sports Weekend and a Frederick County major league player, Don Loun!
