MEMBERS OF THE THOMAS JOHNSON HIGH SCHOOL BOYS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM ARE THE GUESTS ON THIS SUNDAY'S EDITION OF FREDERICK COUNTY SPORTS WEEKEND ON WFMD RADIO AND WFMD.COM

Thomas Johnson High School Boys Cross Country coach  Mike Hexter and runners and captains Jon Karczmarek and Lewis Levine (pictured above) talk about the rigors of long distance running.  In fact you may see the TJ runners whipping through the streets of Frederick in the late afternoon.   They won a title at the Brunswick Invitational early in the season and are still going strong and the state meet is still ahead.   Coach Hexter talks about the unique way he got the job offer from Athletic Director Steve Nibbs.  Karczmarek and Levine talk about their running careers at TJ and the team strategy they often use and why running through the woods in competition can bring some surprises.  These guys think nothing of running several miles a day and sometimes 40 or 50 miles a week.   The world of long distance running,  TJ Cross Country,  on this week's Frederick County Sports Weekend, Sunday (10/28) at 12:05 pm on 930 WFMD Radio and the "live" streaming audio of wfmd.com
