Pete MacLeod (right) has more than 30 years experience covering high school and college sports. From 1978 thru 1997 he did high school football, basketball, ice hockey and baseball play by play for WSRO Radio in Marlborough, Mass. He also co-hosted a weekly high school sports show at the station from 1991 thru 1997 and did play by play on radio and Cable TV for the Marlborough Shamrocks , semi pro football team , of the Eastern Football League from 1987 thru 1997. Pete also did play by play of Brown University football on the "First Sports Network" in Rhode Island for the 1988 and 1989 seasons and did Holy Cross Football play by play on WTAG in Worcester, Mass. for the 1985 season.
Before coming to WFMD, Pete covered high school football and basketball for WFTR in Front Royal, Va. and WXVA in Charlestown, W.Va. Pete works as an editor and, occasional sports reporter, for National Public Radio in Washington.
Edward Lulie (left) is a lifelong resident of Maryland and has two sons.. He has coached Football and basketball in the Middletown Valley Athletic Association and been the color commentator for WFMD High School Football broadcasts for the last seven years (with Pete McLeod doing the hard work-play by play!) A graduate of the University of Baltimore Law School, Edward was appointed to be Community Prosecutor in 2008 and continues in that position. He has practiced law in Frederick since 1979.
He has experience both as a writer and commentator. An enthusiastic supporter of athletics in Western Maryland he hopes that Frederick County Sports Weekend continues to help helps bring well deserved recognition to the many talented athletes and coaches in our area and helps thereby to increase public awareness and support.

10/14/12: A look at Frederick High School sports with Director of Football Operations Brandon Brubaker.
10/21/12: Brunswick High School Boys Soccer team, Antietam Conference Champions for 2012, Coach Ken Putnam, players Captains Nate Eiben and Drew Demich. This team would eventually win the Maryland state 1A Championship.
10/28/12: Thomas Johnson High School Boys Cross Country Team. Coach Mike Hexter and runners Senior Jon Karczmarek and Junior Lewis Levine. Winners of the Brunswick Invitational Meet in September.
11/4/12: Tuscarora High School Volleyball team which finished the regular 2012 season with an 11-1 record. Piedmont Conference Champions. Coach Ricardo Vera. Players Katie Stouffer leading Frederick County in “kills” average. Asia Whitney a team leader, Angie Hanshaw who has a 2.57 “digs” average and Chloe Collins who has a 2.51 “digs” average, numbers 10 and 11 in the County in digs.
11/11/12: Thomas Johnson High School Girls Basketball Coach and WFMD sports announcer, Darryl Whiten. He talks about his experience as a coach at the John Calipari Kentucky summer basketball camp. Also talked about the 2012-2013 Thomas Johnson High School Girls Basketball team.

Discussion included championships won by Frederick County schools in 2012, swimming facilities in the county schools, the need for an indoor track facility for county schools, Club Sports vs. High School Sports, Officiating at high school sports events and sportsmanship by players and fans.
