President Barack Obama and republican
challenger Mitt Romney answer questions about their faith in the
latest issue of Cathedral Age, the magazine of Washington's
national cathedral.
Romney writes that he was a ``lay pastor'' in his church, but
doesn't use the word mormon in his answers. asked to address
uneasiness about his faith, Romney calls for tolerance, saying,
``every religion has its own unique doctrines and history.''
Obama reiterates his christian faith but says his job as
President does not involve convincing folks that his ``faith in
Jesus is legitimate and real.''
the President and Romney both say their faith commands them to
love god and serve others.
