Not so fast. Rutgers basketball coach Mike Rice's job is now in jeopardy. The university said late Tuesday that they're reconsidering their decision to allow Rice to keep his job after video aired Tuesday of him physically abusing and yelling gay slurs at his players.
After the video was aired on ESPN, the criticism came flying over social media with even New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and LeBron James weighing in. The head of the New Jersey Assembly also said Rice should get the boot.
LeBron said in a tweet, "If my son played for Rutgers or a coach like that he would have some real explaining to do and I'm still gone whoop on him afterwards! C'mon."
Assembly Speaker Shelia Oliver was a little more blunt, saying, "Mike Rice should no longer be employed by Rutgers University. He must go."
