Good morning!

Hurricane Sandy was not kind to me!!  We lost power around 8:00 p.m. on Monday.  In the middle of the night 3 large trees came down and did some damage to our home and taking out all the lines to our house. So even after the power is restored to our area; we will be waiting for the phone, cable and electric to be re-run to our home.

I can access Internet remotely on my laptop; but only a couple times each day to save power.  I am listening to you on a transistor radio with batteries!! Could not believe that I even saved this radio after all these years!!

We live out by Frederick Community College and still no power, no cable and now NO WATER as all of us have wells. The one pole that came down on Opossumtown Pike and all the wires that came down just had an orange cone by it since Tuesday … FINALLY last night someone came and actually removed the pole and wire from the road to the side of the road so now both lanes are available. It is so very frustrating that not only do we have no power; and just saw the first power truck yesterday, but when you call First Energy/Potomac Edison you are on hold for 40+ minutes just to talk to someone. And then they have no information!!

The Comcast line to our home was totally removed from our house when the trees came falling down around our home. However, Comcast has been out and has already redone the wire to our house. So whenever the cable and power gets back up our home now has a new connection.

The insurance adjuster has been out and the contractor is coming out today … keep your fingers crossed we see some power company people working on Ford Road and Opossumtown Pike!!  Thanks for letting us vent … just want people to know that there are still people with no power and WATER!!!

Unfortunately we are eating out a lot since we have no power to keep anything cold or to cook anything. We just had to throw away everything from our freezer.
