The Frederick Faith Debate is an open and honest forum for our local faith community leaders to share and discuss their views of the truth.

Thomas Jefferson once said, “The clash of ideas is the sound of freedom”. In that spirit, we seriously wrestle with important ideas… and are free to disagree with one another.

The hope is that through our wrestling we will develop a better understanding of the truth about the most important issues that face us in this world.

If you are a local faith community leader, or know one that would like to participate in a future roundtable, please contact Troy Skinner at the offices of WFMD. Also, if you have a topic you’d like to hear discussed or a question you'd like answered, please share that, as well.

About Troy Skinner

Troy is a lifelong Chicago sports fan, getting into the radio business initially in an effort to be closer to the teams he already followed so closely.

From intern to Program Director, part-timer to Sales Manager, Troy's career has run the gamut in a variety of cities including Chicago, Orlando, Syracuse, New York City, and Frederick.

In addition to a number of "behind the scenes" radio responsibilities, Troy has spent time behind the microphone in a variety of capacities: sports reporter, news anchor, disc jockey, commercial production, and talk show host.

Raised in a nominally Christian home, Troy recommitted himself to serving the object of his faith, Jesus Christ, as an adult. He and his family are members of Poolesville Baptist Church.

Not always sure of the answers, Troy loves asking questions in an attempt to get to the heart of a matter.  He views the radio show as both a public service and a personal education.

He is very proud of the diversity of guests and subjects so far featured on the show.  From Buddhist to Baha'i. Roman Catholic to Eastern Orthodox. Atheist to Agnostic. Mormon to Muslim. Unitarian to Jewish. Charismatic to Presbyterian. Esoteric New Age Psychology to Conservative Fundamentalism.

The piece raises awareness about the potential sale of A123 Systems, who with $250 million in taxpayer money, developed next generation lithium ion battery technology. This technology may be critical to new, classified military systems and significant new commercial applications. A 'secret' commission will decide this week if it can be sold to a Chinese conglomerate giving a military and economic competitor a serious edge. Enjoy.
