The celebration is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Take a step back into the past at the 150th Great Frederick Fair Heritage Celebration.

Admission is free as well as a wide variety of free activities, demonstrations and exhibits.

"Games that don't require kids to hold a handheld DS or something that takes a battery. It's going to be egg spoon races, three legged races, stick horse races and the hoops, that you can imagine the kids back in the period day used to chase down the street, and shooting some marbles and things like that," Becky Brashear, general manager said.

The event will encourage families and friends to buy a picnic meal to enjoy on a blanket or eat while sitting on top of hay barrels. Foods and drinks will be available for purchase that were similar to the ones available back in the early years of the fair such as country fried chicken, homemade cornbread, fish n' chips and homemade ice cream.

Event guides will be dressed in costume to get the real feel of how the fair used to be.

The celebration is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
