There were no injuries.

Fire caused an estimated $5,000 damage at Brunswick High School on Thursday afternoon.

Frederick County Fire and Rescue says 20 fire fighters responded to reports of a building fire at 101 Cummings Drive in Brunswick shortly after 4:00 PM. They found a small fire on top of a pottery kiln in an art classroom. The school's sprinkler system was activated and the fire was contained.  No one was injured.

Investigators say the fire was accidental, caused by flammable materials put on top of the kiln which was in use.

School system staff assisted in the cleanup.
