The cost of riding the bus in Frederick County is going up. "The reason is because the cost of operating expenses has increased over the years," said Sherry Burford, division director.
Effective Monday, July 30, Connector and Shuttle routes one-way cash fare will increase by 15 cents to $1.25. Connector and Shuttle fares will increase by another 25 cents on July 1, 2014 to $1.50.
TransIT-plus demand-response paratransit service one-way cash fares will increase by 50 cents to $2.00 for a medical trip and to $3.00 for other trips. TransIT-plus advanced purchase discount ticket prices will also increase by 50 cents per trip.

For increased customer convenience and savings, a new multi-trip ticket valid on TransIT Connector and Shuttle routes will be available for purchase in mid-July. General public 20-trip tickets will cost $22. Reduced fare for senior citizens and people with disabilities 21 trip ticket will cost $11. Tickets may be purchased by mail or at the following locations Mon.-Fri. from 8 am - 4 pm. Transit-1040 Rocky Springs Road, Treasurer's office-30 N. Market Street, or the Frederick Senior Center-1440 Taney Avenue.
To purchase tickets by mail, send a check or money order payable to Frederick County Treasurer, along with a TransIT order form, to TransIT Services of Frederick County, 1040 Rocky Springs Road, Frederick, Maryland 21702. Ticket order forms are available on the TransIT website.
