2013 beneficiaries announced.

Cocktails for a Cause has completed their inaugural season with fundraising totals of $4,500 for Heartly House, Hospice of Frederick County’s Camp Jamie, Children of Incarcerated Parents Partnership and Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding Program. "It's really important to give back to the community that you live in. The other people that are involved with me, in Cocktails for a Cause, all live locally, and we just wanted to give back to the community that we all love," said Amanda Haddaway, President.

The group plans to thank their supporters, and celebrate their first-year success at a birthday party November 20 from 5-8 p.m. at The Greene Turtle. This event is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted to help fund their operating budget. "Our current business model does not keep any funding for our organization, so all money raised this year has been passed on to our beneficiary organizations," said Haddaway. "Additionally, The Greene Turtle will donate 10 percent of the day’s profits to Cocktails."

Cocktails for a Cause has chosen five beneficiary organizations for the upcoming 2013 season. Believers’ Club (ARC of Frederick County), Second Chances Garage, Woman to Woman Mentoring Program, and Community Living have been selected for events. A full schedule will be announced in the near future, but events are tentatively planned for February, April, June and September. Additionally, Cocktails for a Cause will solicit school supplies and other items for the Children of Incarcerated Parents Partnership during their November event.
