They are asking visitors to not park on the exit ramps leading into Thurmont. Signs will be posted on Route 15 directing people where to park.
With large crowds expected at this weekend's 49th annual Colorfest, Thurmont Police Chief Greg Eyler is reminding visitors to not park on the ramps leading into Thurmont.
"We will fine [those parking on the ramps]. We try not to tow any vehicles, the last two years, I don't think we towed anyone. but we will put a fine on it and if they are still there a couple hours later, we will put another citation on it and that is going to build up. I think over the last two years we have been very fortunate and citizens have complied with us and did not park on the ramps," Chief Eyler said.
He said there are plenty of areas to park and bus routes to shuttle people into town. Signs will be posted on route 15 directing people to the parking areas. Those parking illegally, could get fined as much as $60.
