The Frederick County Department of Social Services is sponsoring their annual 2012 Holiday Gift Project to make the season special for some of our neighbors in need.

Many seniors, families and children would not be able to celebrate the holidays without the assistance of the community, and because of that, donations are needed and volunteers to help distribute presents.  Many offices, groups, families and individuals have volunteered to help spread holiday joy by participating in this program.  Last year over 367 children and families, 78 home bound senior citizens, and numerous nursing home residents were able to enjoy the holidays thanks to generous donations from donors and sponsors.

Those who volunteer to sponsor are provided an information sheet about the family or person they are helping.  Then gifts are purchased, wrapped, and brought to the Department.  Workers will then distribute the presents to their clients.  All donations are greatly appreciated.
