Five local charities will be selected to receive $5,000 each.

What better way to celebrate 25 years in business than to donate $25,000 to five local charities? While many companies bask in the glow of past accomplishments, The Lube Centers, The Auto Spas, and The Auto Repairs (16 locations which combined form WLR Automotive Group, Inc.) launch a "$25k Giveaway for Good" contest in honor of their 25th anniversary.

"At WLR Automotive Group, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary in a very meaningful way – by investing $25,000 in the communities that have supported us for years. Since our inception in 1987, we’ve adopted a philosophy of giving and donate significantly to local groups every year," says Randall S. Simpson, President and CEO of WLR Automotive Group, Inc.

Participation in the $25K Giveaway for Good contest is simple. Anyone can nominate a non-profit group serving Maryland or the York County, Pennsylvania region from November 5 through December 14 by visiting the website http://www.25kgiveawayforgood.com. In January, the public will be asked to vote for the non-profit group of their choice. The top five candidates receiving the highest number of votes by January 24, 2013 will each be awarded a $5,000 donation.

To qualify for the $25k Giveaway for Good, groups must be registered with the IRS as a 501c3 organization; a status held by an incredibly diverse range of community groups. Groups that may qualify include charitable or civic groups, PTAs, booster clubs, youth sport leagues, Girl/Boy Scout councils, or church groups just to name a few.

Ask your favorite group if they qualify or go to http://www.melissadata.com/lookups/np.asp to search by group name or zip code. Get started today – the nomination checklist is now available for download at http://www.25kgiveawayforgood.com.

"We are especially excited that the public will decide where this money goes because we believe ALL charitable efforts help strengthen our communities and contribute toward a positive outlook for the future," adds Simpson.
