Victims Identified In Deadly Crash

Maryland State Police investigators have identified the victims and notified the families of those involved in Monday's crash in Frederick County that killed two men and injured three.

The deceased victims are identified as Hector N.C. Henriquez, 46, of Gaithersburg, Md., and Jose R. Diaz, 54, of Derwood, Md. Henriquez was the driver of a Ford F-450 truck. Diaz was a passenger in that truck and was sitting in the left rear seat. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

A second passenger in the Ford F-450 is identified as Jose C. Cedillo, 37, of Gaithersburg, Md. Cedillo was in the front passenger’s seat when the crash occurred. He was transported by a Maryland State Police helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with what were believed to be life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer involved in the crash was identified as Watson Pierre, 34, of Sunrise, Florida. Pierre was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to the Shock Trauma Center where he was treated and released. Upon his release, he was arrested by Maryland State Police and charged Monday night in connection with the crash..


A passenger in the tractor trailer is identified as Erochenel Bernadin, 42, of Deerfield Beach, Florida. He was transported by ambulance to the Frederick Memorial Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and later released.

The crash remains under investigation by the Maryland State Police. The crash occurred Monday, shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Rt. 75 at Ed McClain Road, north of New Market and south of Libertytown, in Frederick County.

The preliminary investigation by the Maryland State Police CRASH Team indicates the tractor trailer, driven by Pierre, was northbound on Rt. 75 and was negotiating a right turn after descending a steep grade when it overturned onto the southbound Ford F-450 truck. The tractor trailer was loaded with oranges. The tractor trailer is registered to Noble Enterprise Transport, LLC, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The Ford F-450 is owned by Garey Construction, Inc.
