Maryland Comptroller Peter Francho says he is seriously considering a run for governor. "We are going to take a look at it, because a lot of people want the state to be more in the center on fiscal issues, but I will be making an official announcement sooner than later," he said.

"I think the state needs to be brought back to  the center on fiscal matters, but that conflicts to the matter that I love being your Comptroller," said Franchot.

The Comptroller was in Frederick Monday to present a proclamation to Ill Forno Pizzeria as part of his Economic Truth Tour.

Marylanders will elect their next governor in November 2014.  Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley is serving his second and final term.  Several high profile figures are expected to run for office, including Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, Attorney General Doug Gansler and Howard County Executive Ken Ulman.
