The investigation continues into a deadly crash Thursday morning near Frederick.

The Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to Gambrill Park Road south of Coxey Brown Road at around 4:30 for a single-vehicle accident. They say a car traveling south on Gambrill Park Road failed to negotiate a turn and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a tree and caught on fire.

Two passengers were able to get out, but the driver couldn't, and died at the scene.

One of the passengers was flown to Bayview Burn Center by State Police Medivac helicopter. The second passenger was taken by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center.

The names of those involved have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
