New Speed Cameras To Monitor Smithsburgs' Area Schools Traffic

The camera set up on North Main Street is designed to address speeding vehicles and the new system will begin monitoring motorist January 14th.

A speed camera that will be monitoring traffic around Smithsburgs' three public schools is set to go live on January 14th.

The camera set up on North Main Street is designed to address speeding vehicles and the new system will begin issuing tickets to drivers after a 30-day grace period.

The tickets will be mailed to motorist driving 12 mph over the 20mph school zone speed limit. The fine for speeding in the school zone is 40 dollars.
