Two people, including a Frederick County Sheriff’s Office sergeant, were taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries after their vehicles collided Friday morning in the southern portion of Washington County, Maryland State Police said.

The accident occurred at about 6 a.m., when a sheriff’s office cruiser and another vehicle collided on Md. 67, just north of U.S. 340, state police said. Both of the people were taken to the hospital by ambulances.

Cpl. Jennifer Bailey, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said Sgt. Rich Rochford lives in Washington County and was on his way to work when the accident occurred.

She said Rochford was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released.

“He’s fine. He’s already back at the office,” Bailey said Friday morning.

Further details, including the name of the other person involved in the accident, were unavailable Friday morning.
