22-Year-Old Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car

An accident over the weekend that claimed the life of a local woman.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate an accident over the weekend that claimed the life of a local woman.

Deputies initially responded to the 10,000 block of Hansonville Road at 7:28 p.m. on Sunday for the accident.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the Taylor Shae Toms, 22, was walking with a friend along Hansonville Road and for unknown reasons entered the southbound travel lane. A car driven by Patricia Ann Fredericks, 53, was traveling southbound on Hansonville Road at the same time and struck Toms.

Maryland State Police Aviation Trooper 3 flew Toms to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. She died Monday evening due to her injuries.

The investigation into the accident is continuing.
