Application training sessions will be held.

The Community Foundation of Frederick County is pleased to announce that its scholarship application is available for the 2013-2014 academic year beginning Tuesday, January 15, 2013. By completing one general application, students will be considered for more than 200 available scholarships.

The completed application must be submitted online no later than 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, February 15, 2013. Only the electronic application submitted with all necessary attachments will be considered. Paper applications will not be accepted.

The application can be accessed by clicking here. Those intending to apply are encouraged to read the information posted on the scholarship page prior to January 15, and start preparing the required materials.

"Students about to complete their senior year of high school, students already enrolled in a trade school, college or university, and non-traditional students over the age of 21 are eligible to apply," said Betsy Day, President. Scholarship criteria are established by the scholarship funds’ founding donors. Some scholarships do not consider financial need. All students are encouraged to apply.

The Community Foundation of Frederick County is a recognized leader in providing scholarships to area students, made possible by generous donors who establish funds, or add to existing funds. For the 2012-2013 academic year alone, the Community Foundation provided more than $505,000 in scholarships to area students.

So that students and families can learn more about the online scholarship application process, the Community Foundation will hold 2 free, one-hour programs titled "How to Apply for Community Foundation Scholarships."  The first program will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Middletown High School.  The second program will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the Community Room of the C. Burr Artz Library, in downtown Frederick.  Seating is limited and pre-registration for these programs must be made by calling 301-695-7660 or by emailing ds.assistant@cffredco.org .
