He was served with a criminal summons.
A 17-year-old Frederick boy charged in connection with a shooting last month is once again in trouble with the law. Cory Aaron Nowalk was served a criminal summons for discharging a firearm within the city, disorderly conduct, and wearing and carrying a handgun on his person.
On December 17th, 2012, police received a complaint about shots-fired in a wooded area behind Toys-R-Us on West Patrick Street. Officers responded, but were unable to locate a suspect.
Two days later, on December 19th, officers responded to the 400 block of Hillcrest Drive for a shooting. A male juvenile was taken to University of Maryland's Shock Trauma after being shot in the chest. Police charged Dylan Grey, 17, as an adult for the shooting.
Nowalk was also charged in that incident. He told investigators that he took possession of the weapon used in the shooting, and was going to discard it. He also admitted to police to being involved in the shots-fired incident on December 17th, and that the gun used in that case was the same one used on the December 19th shooting on Hillcrest Drive.
Detectives recovered the handgun.
Nowalk was served with the criminal summons on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013.
