Official announcement will be made on Monday.
Randy McClement, who is wrapping up his first term as Frederick's Mayor, is ready to take on the job again. He says he will seek re-election.
Alderwoman Karen Young and Delegate Galen Clagett have also entered the race. "I'm not running against my opponents. I'm running for the City of Frederick," said McClement. "I will let the voters of the City of Frederick know what I would like to do and what I would like to see, and how I would like to move the city forward. I just hope that they will say that I have done a good job for the past three and half years, and would like to see that continue. If they like my direction and what I'm proposing, I hope they vote for me," McClement continued.
McClement will make an official announcement that he's seeking re-election during a news conference Monday evening at The Temple, on West Church Street.
The primary is in September. The general election will be November 5th.
