Cause of death for Robert Saylor is asphyxia and manner is homicide.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore has ruled the cause of death for 26 year old Robert Saylor, of New Market, asphyxia, and the manner of death as homicide. The Frederick County Bureau of Investigation is continuing to investigate.

Last month, off duty sheriff's deputies, working secondary employment for Hill Management, at the Westview Promendade, physically removed Saylor from his theater seat after he had already watched a movie and refused to leave.

In a press release the sheriff's office said Saylor continued to resist and had to be briefly handcuffed. Before exiting the theater the man began having a medical emergency, authorities said. Deputies immediately removed the handcuffs and called EMS. Saylor was transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The press released issued Friday said the three involved deputies, Lt. Scott Jewell, Sgt. Rich Rochford and Dfc. James Harris, are continuing to work their normal assignments.
