He was taken into custody following a brief standoff.
Hagerstown Police on Saturday afternoon arrested a suspect in a stabbing following a brief standoff. Jenerette Bartholomew Dixon, 38, is charged with attempted murder, assault and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Authorities were called to a home at 340 Jonathan Street around 4:15 PM for a stabbing. The victim described as a female in her late teens was in front of the residence when she was stabbed in the upper torso.
She was taken to Meritus Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries. But after undergoing emergency surgery, police say she's expected to recover. They're not identifying her, but say she is a relative of the suspect.
There was a brief standoff, and the Washington County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team was called out. But Dixon came out of the home and was taken into custody without incident.
