Frederick Police Officer Faces Theft Charge In Hagerstown

She was served with a criminal summons on Monday.

 

A Frederick Police Officer faces a theft charge  in Hagerstown. Authorities there say Charity Faith Hoxie, 37, of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania used stolen gift cards at the Bed, Bath and Beyond on Garland Groh Boulevard to make purchases.

Police say the cards were stolen from a home in Montgomery County in October. They were used for shopping in Hagerstown on October 9th, 2012, according to information from the Maryland Judiciary Case Search.

Hoxie was served with a criminal summons on Monday, charging her with theft under $1,000. Her court date is scheduled for April 17th, 2013.

Frederick Police say Officer Hoxie has been placed on administrative leave, and her police powers have been suspended.
