Charges pending against one driver.
Fortunately there were no injuries late Thursday after a crash on I-270 which involved two tractor trailers. Maryland State Police had to close part of the interstate at Northbound I-270 and New Design Road while troopers conducted their investigation.
Authorities said a tractor trailer driven by 60 year old Igor Pajitnov, of Ontario, Canada ran into the back of another tractor-trailer, which was driven by 53 year old Allen Wrenn, of Jamestown, N.C.
Investigators said Pajitnov's truck was heavily damaged, and a large oil spill forced the closure of one lane of traffic and two lanes of the I-70 west ramp for about 30 minutes. The center lanes of I-270 remained closed until about 1 a.m. so the oil could be soaked up using sand.
Police said charges are pending against Pajitnov.
