Suspect Charged In Glade Valley Sporting Goods Burglary

A gun stolen from the store was also recovered.

 

An arrest has been made in the burglary of the Glade Valley Sporting Goods in Frederick on January 27th. Christopher Lee Stevens, Jr., 21 of Keymar, is charged with 2nd-degree burglary, 2nd-degree burglary with intent to steal a firearm, theft between $1,000 and $10,000, and attempted theft less than $1,000.

Stevens was taken into custody following a traffic stop by State Police at the FSK Mall on March 6th. The trooper noticed that Stevens was one of the passengers in a vehicle, and that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant. He was detained.

A handgun stolen from Glade valley Sporting Goods was recovered from the passener side of the vehicle.

Detective Kevin Forrest, the lead investigator in the case, obtained charging documents against Stevens on Thursday, March 7th. He was served with an arrest warrant on Friday, March 8th.

He's currently incarcerated at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
