One was a suspect in the Colonial Jeweler's Robbery last month.
It was a busy day on Friday for the Frederick County Grand Jury. The panel indicted 12 defendants, most for drug offenses.
One was Jack Lee Phillips, Jr., 28, of Frederick, whose charged with a long list of drug and weapons charges. They include two counts of possession of large amounts of crack cocaine and heroin; three counts of possession with intent to distribute on school property, cocaine, heroin and methlenedioxymethamphetamine; possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine; possession of marijuana; three counts of illegal possession of a regulated firearm; use of a firearm during drug trafficking; possession of a handgun on his person, and other offenses. "He has to stand trial for a lot of different charges there," says State's Attorney Charlie Smith. "Of course, the handgun on a person and firearm in relation to CDS {Controlled Dangerous Substance} distribution is a mandatory five years in prison for each one of those offenses."
Another person indicted on Friday is Terrence Tirell Kerns, Jr., 23, of Frederick, who was arrested for breaking into a woman's home on Willowdale Drive in Frederick on May 8th, 2012. He "put a hand over her mouth, and told her he had a gun. 'Don't scream.' The woman actually did struggle and did scream, bit him on the hand, causing a laceration on his hand. He ran out of the bedroom and fled the area. She called 911, and the police were able to take into custody Tirell Kerns," Smith says. Kerns was indicted on Friday for 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, 1st-degree burglary and reckless endangerment.
Other people indicted on Friday include:
Barbara Ann Sneden, 28, of Mechansville, Md., charged with 1st-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit 1st-degree burglary, theft between $1,000 and $10,000 and conspiracy to commit theft between $1,000 and $10,000;
Paul David Hahn, 37, Brunswick, charged with 1st-degree burglary, 4th-degree burglary and theft between $1,000 and $10,000;
Matthew Brian Berresford, 34, Woodsboro, whose on the sex offender registry, and is charged with entering school property without permission;
Alonzo Lee Meadows, 31, of Fairfax, Va., whose charged five counts of 1st-degree assault and 2nd-degree assault, and one count each of theft of more $100,000, use of a handgun in a felony and violent crime, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, armed robbery and five counts of reckless endangerment, for the armed robbery of the Colonial Jewelers on Feb. 5th, 2013;
Robert Jesse Davis, 51, whose charged with two counts each of manufacturing CDS {controlled dangerous substances}, possession with intent to distribute and possession of CDS and possession of production equipment, and one count of the use of a firearm in drug trafficking;
Earl Steven Page II, 37, of Frederick, whose charged with armed robbery, two counts each of 2nd-degree assault and reckless endangerment, and one count of having a handgun on his person, use of a handgun in a violent crime and theft less than $1,000;
Randy Alexander Conney, 47, of Fairplay, Md., whose charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, manufacture of CDS, possession of production equipment, use of a firearm in drug trafficking, possession of a firearm in drug trafficking, and two counts of possession of a firearm following a felony conviction;
David John Foulke, 21, of Egg Harbor, New Jersey, whose charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana;
Delante Stephon Green, 48, of Washington DC, charged with possession with intent to distribute CDS, illegal possession of prescription medication, possession of oxycodone, possession of CDS manufacturing equipment, possession of a smoking device for marijuana and firearm offenses;
and Tyrone Darnell Jenkins, 20, Frederick, whose charged with possession with intent to distribute, possession of CDS paraphernalia.
Green and Jenkins are co-defendants.
Smith says the cases of all 12 defendants will be forwarded to Circuit Court, where trials could take place within six months.
