A Winchester, Virginia couple was arrested in Frederick on Friday night at the K-Mart store on West Patrick Street.

Amanda Michelle Wingfield, 36, was detained by security personnel after trying to leave the store with unpaid items, according to police. She is charged with theft under $1,000.

In front of the store, officers found the suspect's husband, Richard Lee Wingfield, 37, waiting in a car for her. Police say Mr. Wingfield's license was found to be suspended, and he was placed under arrest. Authorities searched Mr. Wingfield's person and the vehicle, and found quantities of suspected crack cocaine, heroin and oxycontin, along with syringes, needles and other paraphernalia.

Mr. Wingfield is charged with possession of oxycontin, possession of crack cocaine and possession of heroin. He's also charged wtih two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
