Hagerstown, Md. (AP) _ Washington County prosecutors say the family of a Waynesboro, Pa., man killed by a drunken driver has asked that he serve less than two weeks in jail.

The Herald-Mail (http://bit.ly/zctvmn ) newspaper of Hagerstown reports that Bryan May, 45, of Boonsboro was sentenced Tuesday for manslaughter and homicide while driving under the influence of alcohol.

The judge sentenced him to four years. But in a deal approved by the family of victim Bradley Christman, May would be jailed until March 31st, and then have a sentence-modification hearing.

He could then be released to serve nine months on home detention and 100 hours of community service.

Judge Daniel Dwyer says May had a blood-alcohol level that barely qualified for the DUI charge. Dwyer says the death last July was an accident.
