The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is notifying citizens about the upcoming States Attorney’s Office / Frederick Rescue Mission 10 Miler Run that will likely cause some minor vehicle traffic impacts in the Ballenger Creek communities. The event will be held this Sunday, 03/24/13, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will follow the below course route:

· Harry Grove Stadium onto New Design Rd;

· New Design Rd. to Elmer Derr Rd;

· Elmer Derr Rd. to Ballenger Creek Pk;

· Ballenger Creek Pk. north to the abandoned farm in the area of Tuscarora H.S. where runners will turn around and run back the same route (closed loop course).

Runners will be designated on the shoulder of the roadways. The only road/access closures will be: New Design Rd. at the entrance into the Crestwood Plaza Shopping Center, New Design Rd. at Executive Way, Ballenger Creek Pike at Alan Linton Dr. and there will be no westbound traffic on Elmer Derr Road. Deputies will be in the area to provide traffic control along the course. Motorists in the area are reminded to slow down and keep a safe distance from runners and pedestrian traffic.
