Last September, the Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division received a complaint regarding child pornography. "The case was referred to us through Child Protective Services," said Cpl. Aaron Lapp. "Detective Holler was assigned as the lead investigator in the case," he continued.
Detectives made contact with Carlos Alfaro Garcia at his residence, which is in the 1300 block of Mulberry Court. "A laptop computer belonging to Carlos Alfaro was recovered. A search and seizure warrant was executed and a search of the laptop computer was conducted. Detective Holler was able to identify several files of identified child pornography on the laptop computer. Several of the files located appeared to be of subjects known to Alfaro Garcia. Other files appeared to have been downloaded from the internet," said Cpl. Lapp.
An indictment was issued by the Frederick County Grand Jury charging Alfaro Garcia in regards to this case.
On Wednesday, Detectives with the Frederick Police Department located Alfaro Garcia. He was arrested and taken into custody.
He is charged with (2) Counts of Fourth Degree Sex Offense, (3) Counts of Manufacturing Child Pornography, (2) Counts of Possession of Child Pornography and (2) Counts of Soliciting Child Pornography.
