She was turned over to the custody of her parents.
A 13-year-old girl has been charged in connection with making a threat at West Middle School in Westminster on Tuesday. The Carroll County Sheriff's Office says the teenager is charged as a juvenile with making false statements regarding a destructive device.
School officials contacted authorities shortly before 11:00 AM after a student found a threatening note.
West Middle School was evacuated and officers conducted a search of the building using bomb-sniffing dogs. Nothing was found.
Detectives working with students and school officials were able to identity the youth, who has been turned over to the custody of her parents.
Investigators do not believe the girl was a threat to students or staff at West Middle School; nor do they think this incident is related to the bomb threat at the Carroll County Court House Complex. That also turned out to be a hoax.
