But charges are pending.
A 12-year-old boy reported missing on Thursday afternoon was found that evening, but that's not the end of the story. The Carroll County Sheriff's Office says charges are pending.
Authorities sent out an e-mail to the media saying Michael Kenneth Swiney of Broadbeck Road in Hampstead was missing. They say he wanted to adopt a dog and was possibly heading to Mid-Atlantic German Shepard Rescue in Mount Airy, or another location. He was believed to be driving his parents car.
Later that day, Pennsylvania State Police received a tip that Swiney was in a restaurant in Harrisburg. He was taken into custody without incident, and was returned to his mother and father.
The investigation into this incident is continuing.
