Package tested negative.
Local authorities are currently investigating the delivery of a suspicious package. "The Frederick Police Department is currently on the scene of a suspicious package. We were called in when a suspicious package was delivered to Planned Parenthood, on Thomas Johnson Drive," said Lt. Clark Pennington. "That package was believed to contain a suspicious substance, possibly a powder," he continued.
Lt.Pennington said several people were in the area when the package was delivered, and as a precautionary measure, EMS was called to the scene to provide any needed services.
"Preliminary testing is negative. We have since opened the package and determined that it was a legite piece of parcel for Planned Parenthood," said Lt. Pennington.
Planned Parenthood is a provider of reproductive health care for local women and men.
