Citizens turned in 167-lbs. of drugs.
Thurmont Police say 167-pounds of drugs were collected on Saturday during Drug Take-Back Day.
Authorities say they were outdated, unwanted and unused medications, which will be turned over to the US Drug Enforcement Administration for proper disposal.
The Police Department says it thanks residents for bringing these medications to Drug Take-Back Day rather than throwing them in the trash, or flushing them down the toilet.
Drug Take-Back Day is sponsored by the DEA.
