Police say the individual surrendered without incident.
A barricade situation in Frederick on Wednesday ended peacefully.
At around 10:45 AM, police were called to 1710 Heather Lane to assist the Sheriff's Office in serving a Circuit Court Warrant on Michael Young Bennett. After they made contact with him, authorities say Bennett picked up a knife and threatened to commit suicide.
Officers kept in contact with Bennett and secured the scene.
The Frederick Police Crisis Intervention Team and the Special Response Team were activated. The 1700 of Heather Lane was closed, and officers made sure that residents in the nearby homes were safe.
After about three hours of negotiations, the Crisis Intervention Team was able to get Bennett to surrender peacefully.
He was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for an emergency petition.
