Frost could kill plants.
Don't get used to this warm weather! A blast of chilly air is heading to our way. "It looks like we're going to have a relatively cold air mass coming to the area beginning Sunday night and continuing through Monday and Monday night," said Accu-weather Meteorologist Brian Edwards. "You will really be able to feel it Sunday night as temperatures in our area drop in the upper 30's," Edwards continued.
Homeowners who have already planted annual flowers and warm-season vegetables will need to cover their tender vegetation or risk losing them to the frost, officials said. Garden and home improvement centers may want to move their cold-sensitive stock under cover, as well.
The cold wave, which will initially be accompanied by some wind, will have people donning long sleeves and reaching for heavy jackets in many areas.
